LANSING, Mich. – The Lansing Economic Development Corporation (Lansing EDC), in partnership with Mayor Andy Schor, announced the awardees of the City of Lansing’s FY 2024–2025 Façade Improvement Program. This impactful grant program supports small businesses and property owners by enhancing the physical appearance, accessibility, and structural integrity of building façades across the city.

“Our Façade Improvement Program helps small businesses update and improve their storefronts, creating even more vibrancy throughout Lansing,” Mayor Schor stated. “The façade improvements at these businesses help further revitalize our commercial corridors. I’m proud that my budgets have allowed us to support this program to help small businesses across the city once again this year.”

The 2024–2025 program awarded a total of $257,173 to 24 businesses throughout Lansing. The

grant categories include:

• Transformational Improvement Awards – Up to $20,000

• Aesthetic and Maintenance Awards – Up to $10,000

• Design Program Awards – Up to $2,000

Awarded businesses span a wide variety of industries—from childcare to retail, food service to personal care—representing a diverse cross-section of Lansing’s entrepreneurial community.

“As Board Chair of the Lansing EDC, I’m continually inspired by how this program brings our vision to life,” said Shelley Davis Boyd, Chair of the Lansing Economic Development Corporation Board. “Supporting small businesses, strengthening neighborhoods, and helping Lansing’s commercial corridors reflect the energy and creativity of our community. These façade improvements are about more than aesthetics. They’re about investing in people, places, and potential in a way that builds lasting impact.”
