We offer various grants to support local business owners, including façade improvement, design assistance and support for BIPOC developers through the LEED program. Grant availability changes yearly, so check our website or contact us directly to explore current opportunities. Learn more about available grants.

While 2025 applications are now closed, the 2026 application period will kick off in January 2026. We will post updates when more information is available. The program offers up to $30,000 for transformational upgrades and $10,000 for aesthetic improvements. Check out the Façade Improvement page for more information.

Projects like the Red Cedar Development showcase our commitment to sustainability. This 36-acre site features stormwater filtration systems, walkable connections to trails, and mixed-use development that reduces urban sprawl.

New Vision Lansing is a transformational $316 million development reshaping Downtown and Old Town. With five major builds — including Lansing’s future tallest high-rise — it will add nearly 600 housing units and more than 600,000 square feet of commercial space, creating a vibrant, 24/7 urban center. The full development, including the 28-story Tower on Grand, is slated for completion in 2027. Construction is already underway on several buildings in both Downtown and Old Town. A commercial corridor is a main road or area lined with businesses that serve as economic engines for neighborhoods. Corridors like Michigan Avenue and MLK Jr. Blvd. are essential for local commerce, transportation, and community identity. Through corridor improvement programs, Lansing EDC works to make these throughways safer and more accessible to benefit both residents and business owners alike.

MACIA is a redevelopment authority focused on revitalizing Michigan Avenue from S. Larch Street to Lansing’s eastern border. From supporting businesses during roadwork to launching façade upgrades, MACIA works to make the corridor a vibrant destination. Learn more about MACIA and its impact.
