LEED Initiative: Advancing Equitable Economic Development in Lansing
The Lansing Equitable Economic Development (LEED) Initiative is a citywide strategy to build an economy rooted in equity, inclusion, and resilience. Developed by the Lansing EDC and funded by the American Rescue Plan Act, LEED addresses barriers that have long prohibited underserved communities from full participation in economic growth.
Through six integrated pillars—including small business support, grant programs, real estate development training, and corridor reinvestment—LEED aligns resources to foster generational wealth, expand opportunity, and catalyze transformative neighborhood development. By investing in people and places, LEED ensures Lansing’s economic future is inclusive, community-driven, and built to last.
